Veyne House
Day spa and skin clinic

An hour of quiet, held in stone.

Tell us what your skin needs, take an open hour, and the room is warm before you arrive.

Take a time, then talk.

A treatment room in dark honed stone, a bed dressed in cream linen under a marble ledge with a lit brass sconce above it.

Room resting

Assistant on your siteToday

I burn easily and I have never had a facial. Is that a problem?

Not at all. We start with the gentlest of the three and keep the room cool. Would a quiet morning suit you?

Yes. Something early this week, please.

An example list for a house that does not exist. Nothing here can be bought.

A wall of honed cream marble with soft grey veining, lit from one side so the grain and the joints read across it.
The hall Marble, warm water, and nothing else in the room.
Practitioners

Three people, and you keep the one you like.

Stone and heat

The quiet hour

Says almost nothing, and means it.

Every photograph on this page was generated by us. The house, the people and the hours are invented.

Visit

Where the house is, and when it is open.

  • WhereDown the stone lane behind the old baths, the door with the brass handle
  • WhenFrom nine in the morning until seven, every day but Sunday
  • The hallKept silent before noon, so mornings are the quietest hours to take
  • Ask forSoraya Kenmoor, at the desk in the hall
  • Getting inOne bell by the door. There is nothing to knock on

The house does not take anyone off the street. Every hour is held for one person.

A guest rests in a low chair in the quiet room, wrapped to the neck in a heavy cream robe, her eyes closed.
Questions

The five things people ask before a first hour.

Unlabelled amber and clear glass bottles and a stone jar stand on an aged brass tray on a honed marble shelf.
I have never had a treatment. Where do I start?

With the skin reading. It is half an hour, you keep your clothes on, and nothing is sold to you at the end of it.

What should I bring?

Nothing you do not already have. Robes, slippers and towels are in the room, and there is a locker with a key.

Can I come on my own?

Yes, and most people do. Say so in the note and the assistant finds the quietest hour of the day for you.

Can I move the hour?

Write back to the note and the assistant moves it. A room is only held once, so earlier is kinder to whoever is next.

My skin reacts to almost everything. Is that alright?

Tell the assistant what your skin does and the practitioner picks the gentlest of the three. Nothing goes on you that you have not been told about first.
